Hoptoberfest 2023

‍GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — HopCat today announced the return of its "Hoptoberfest," a lively celebration and nod to the world-renowned Oktoberfest tradition. From Friday, Sept. 15 through Sunday, Oct. 1, all HopCat locations will be transformed into festive destinations for Oktoberfest enthusiasts, offering a curated selection of the best local and imported beers, and a delicious food menu to complement the beer offerings.  

Hoptoberfest’s diverse selection of beers will be tailored to each HopCat location and will feature both authentic Bavarian options and German-inspired beers from local breweries. World-class märzen and festbiers will be available from Ayinger, Hofbräu, Paulaner, and Weihenstephan, as well as Oktoberfest-inspired pours from local favorites like Bell’s, Old Nation, and Arbor Brewing Company.  

“If there was ever a best time to appreciate and enjoy the history that is beer, its over a stein of authentic märzens and festbiers from Germany during the Oktoberfest season,” said Justin Pollock, Beverage Director at HopCat. “Each beer on this menu tells a unique story. Our goal is to highlight the heritage found in beer while at the same time, showcasing the spirit of our local craft breweries and how all of us can be a part of carrying this special tradition into the future. As part of it’s German-inspired celebration, HopCat also will offer guests a limited-time-only food menu, including: a Bacon Krautketten featuring a crispy mashed potato kroketten loaded with bacon, cheddar, and sauerkraut; a Currywurst Pretzel Hoagie; and Omas Apfel Crisp ala Mode, a German take on apple crisp made in house, served warm and topped with a vanilla ice cream with a caramel bourbon sauce.

For those looking to take a piece of Hoptoberfest home, limited-edition 23-ounce Hoptoberfest Steins will be available for purchase. All Hoptoberfest beers can also be enjoyed in Stein pours for an additional charge.
